The Art of Presence

The Art of Presence: One Path Toward Peace

Published July 2010

“Presence encourages the cultivation of perspective.  It supports our natural inner stirring towards wholeness and maturity.  As we begin to trust in the truth of our own experience, moment to moment, we slowly begin to notice nuance and details of our experiences.

From an emotional and psychological perspective, the practice of presence cultivates a center within us from which we are able to be aware of the contents of our personal experience without being overly identified with those contents.  Presence allows us a place to rest in our own truth, discover our own stillpoint—that stillness within-- and then to respond rather than react."

Tea Loves Conversation—a living room tour

In conjunction with the launch of my new book, The Art of Presence: One Path Toward Peace, I’m on a Living Room Tour, giving book readings and signings for groups of friends—book groups─and other interested groups in private homes. If you’re up for a drop-in, contact me and tell me where you are located. I’ll respond with the specifics, and if my travel plans bring me close by, I’ll bring tea and books and sit at your table.
